The Reapers finally arrive, proving a selfish Council wrong, and then they attack all organics. You get to Mass Effect 3, and it all goes downhill, despite being for good reasons. It doesn't feel like the first game, and it's a bit depressing. Throughout all this, there is no magic in it. You find all new squadmates, you fight the Collectors, and hopefully everyone survives throughout your whole trip of anxiety and stress. You are now fighting a roadblock (the Collectors), and the whole "Reaper Invasion" plot is dropped for 98 percent of the game. Wrex is never a squadmate anymore, as well as either Ashley or Kaidan, and Liara. You are technically killed, the Normandy blows up, and most of your crew separates.
You get to Mass Effect 2, and everything feels pointless. You become the first Human Spectre after exposing Saren, you defeat Sovereign and Saren, save (or kill) the Council, and recommend Udina or Anderson to be part of the Council. The graphics were okay for the time, and the environments were stunning.
The combat was a bit annoying, as well as the inventory, but everything else felt perfect. The whole introduction to the series-meeting your favorite characters and finding out about the lore behind the Mass Effect universe, such as the Mass Relays and the Citadel, Reapers and the Protheans.
